These things cut through anything. I recently moved, and gifted my last set to my sister, and thought I would upgrade to an all stainless steal model. I figured these, being stainless steel, would be dishwasher safe, however, once I received them it said not to use in the dishwasher. That is my only regret, with this set, other than that, they are wonderful, but if you don't like washing by hand, try another set. I washed my other set (with non-stainless steal handles) in the dishwasher, and eventually one of the handles cracked from the heat, the blades however held up perfectly well. I might still try and clean these in the dishwasher, but for the price, I don't want to chance it.Pros: Sleek looking, well made, sharper than any blade I've used before... If you do the research you would know there are 3 kinds of materials used for most knives. Carbon steel which is soft, cheap, does not hold a sharp edge for long, and rusts. Stainless steel which is hard and keeps a sharp edge for a while but, is really hard to sharpen. The best of both is high carbon stainless steel which gives you the best of both worlds, which is what this set is made of.The 3 big knifes are amazing. The spine (back edge) is rounded for comfort. The bolster (where the blade meets the handle) is rounded and extremely comfortable to use for long periods. Also the bolster / heel design eliminates the chance of cutting yourself from a sharp edge at the base of the blade. The balance is really good as well. These are really comfortable knives to use for extended periods of time. If you do not know knife skills please look them up and use a pinch grip for slicing... Read more |
