They are strong and sharp and very well constructed, but the two little tags by the handles are sharp and unless you are very careful you get cut by them. I understand their (the tangs) purpose, but for me they are just a bit dangerous and would have preferred a smoother handle area.Edited review It's been over a year and these are just not worth the money. They still cut through bags adn such but I never use them for cutting poultry and barely for herbs. They fall apart TOO easily. I understand the idea of taking apart especially for cleaning, but these fall apart taking them out of the knife block. Best bet, choose some other brand. First, these scissors come apart way too easily... I have hardly ever used them without them separating when I don't want them to. Over time this feature has become quite irritating. Second, the metal handles under the black finger guards are not solid all the way around; there's a gap in the middle that you can't see in the picture. As a result if you are cutting something difficult (chicken being an excellent example) the finger guards will bow inward and you'll lose a lot of your cutting power. So, I still think they are good as kitchen scissors (and that's how they are advertised after all) but not as a miracle tool.Original review, for reference: I just bought my third pair of these which will be intended primarily for office use.
