They have been doing a great job in our kitchen for a number of years. Last week, my husband needed a tool to cut vinyl siding. Having nothing else to use, he grabbed these scissors. Here are the problems I've found:1) Length of shears to handle feels "wrong" in that the shears should be longer to give the right balance and leverage for cutting. 2) The scissor handles close together with a little plastic foot on each handle. That foot is positioned almost exactly where my fingers wraps around the handle, so my fingers get pinched frequently when using these. I haven't had this trouble with other utility scissors. 3) Shearing "action" is not too effective. I can cut many things with these scissors but nothing seems to cut well. For example it doesn't cut lily stems very well one handed. It doesn't cut through two layers of plastic on packaging very well. Over all the cutting "power" seems weak and I'm constantly having to hold things flat or force the cut. In my opinion the whole point of oversized kitchen... Read more |
